About Us
Monterey, California native Todd Clickard is a full-time professional musician and music educator. With a B.A. in music (with an emphasis in jazz performance) and a teaching credential from San Jose State, Todd studied sax with the legendary Joe Henderson and also with Mel Martin, and classical flute with Ray Fabrizio, Al Cromwel, and Isabel Chapui Star.
Todd has been teaching music for over 30 years and currently teaches music for Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. Todd also teaches after school lessons in his private studio and has taught hundreds of students including many who have made the Monterey Jazz Festival’s Monterey County High School All-Star Band. These students have performed in Japan and at the Monterey Jazz Festival along side the MJF’s Next Generation Jazz Orchestra. Todd's students are also involved in Youth Music Monterey, CMEA Honor Bands and the Monterey Jazz Festival Jazz Camp.
Todd plays professionally on the saxophone, flute, clarinet, and trumpet in a wide variety of styles and bands, including jazz, big band, sax quartet, woodwind quartet, pit orchestras for musical productions, church music, and more. Todd has performed with Joe Henderson, Louie Bellson, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Guy Lombardo, The Mills Brothers, Al Martino and Don Schamber's Alumni Band to name just a few.
Todd has performed with The Chicano All Stars, The J.T. Horns, The Musicians Warehouse Big Band with Louie Bellson, The Robin Anderson Big Band, Standing Room Only, The Del Monte Express, The Monterey Pops Symphonic Band, Compass Church Salinas and The John "Broadway" Tucker Blues Band. He also performs with his own groups, The Tenor Tones, The Clicktrax Jazz Orchestra, Four Five Sax, and Clicktrax Winds.
