Give students a musical starting point for noticing habits that can make learning harder. Gettin' In My Own Way opens a conversation about the choices we make when a task feels difficult and the small changes that can help us take another step.
Try it with your class: Discuss a fictional learning challenge rather than singling out a student. Brainstorm a helpful next action, such as listening to directions, asking a question, or trying a shorter practice goal, then connect those ideas with the song.
Your download includes:
A vocal-guide MP3 to help you teach and learn the song.
An instrumental performance MP3 for rehearsal and singing without recorded vocals.
A lyric-sheet PDF to print or project.
